Walkathon : Food Safety & Drug Safety

With an estimated 600 million cases of foodborne illnesses annually, unsafe food is a threat to human health and economies globally. Ongoing changes in climate, global food production and supply systems affect consumers, industry, and the planet itself: food safety systems need to keep pace with these changes.

Integrating food safety into national and regional policies to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development should be implemented by setting a coherent actions across multiple sectors in order to promote safe and diversified healthy diets.

ASSOCHAM along with FSSAI Eat Right India Initiative is organizing a Walkathon on 31^st March 2024 at Guwahati Assam, to raise awareness regarding Food Safety and Drug Safety. The program will have about 300 participants from all walks of life and the objective is to –

• Raise Awareness among citizens on Food safety and Drug Safety in the North-Eastern region.
• Strengthen commitment at the highest political level to scale up food safety and Drug.  
• Safety towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
