On the Eve of “World Kidney Day”, ILLNESS TO WELLNESS Webinar on Kidney

  • 09 Mar, 2022
  • 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Kidney illness has been considered the most ignored chronic condition. A multitude of communicable and noncommunicable illnesses result in renal problems and many individuals who have kidney disease lack access to care. The origins, outcomes and costs of renal disorders have implications for public health policy in all nations. The chances of kidney disease are also impacted by race, gender, geography, and lifestyle. Increasing economic and health inequities, migration, demographic shift, dangerous working conditions and environmental risks, natural disasters and pollution may debacle the initiatives to lower the morbidity and mortality from kidney disease.

If risk factors are identified early, acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease can be prevented and, if kidney disease is diagnosed early, worsening of kidney function can be slowed or averted by inexpensive interventions, several of which are on the World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) list for non-communicable disease management. Such treatments include counselling for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and hypertension, pharmacological therapy, tobacco management, encouragement of physical exercise and the reduction of salt consumption via law and food labelling. A multisectoral strategy is required to treat the worldwide burden of renal disease. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) underline the necessity of a multisectoral approach to health. These initiatives may also stimulate medical advances and minimize the burden of such illness in future generations.
With the paramount objectives to cascade awareness and disseminate wisdom about managing kidney care and preventive and curative actions to gain health benefits and reduce other risk factors to lead a healthier, happier, and prosperous life, under the Illness to Wellness campaign, ASSOCHAM, on the Eve of “World Kidney Day” is organizing a webinar on “Kidney Care: Preventive and Curative Actions” scheduled on Wednesday, 9th March 2022 from 2.30 PM To 3.30 PM.
