Manufacturing and MSME Conclave 2022 & Business Excellence Awards

Manufacturing and MSMEs are our future. They are the next era of global growth and innovation. In today’s world, manufacturing and MSMEs contribute significantly due to latest technologies, innovations, economies of scale, etc and they have always remained a critical force in both advanced and developing economies and are considered as the engines of growth, bringing new opportunities and challenges to business leaders and policy makers. Globally, manufacturing and MSMEs continues to grow and they account for a significant share in the global GDP and are one of the key drivers for employment generation and livelihood. 

The Indian Manufacturing and MSME industry have been imperative to industrial development of the country as well as growth of the economy and contributes significantly towards the country’s GDP and GVA through its national and international trade. They are the backbone of the national economic structure and have unremittingly acted as the bulwark for the economy of the country, providing it resilience to ward off global economic shocks and adversities. They emerged as a highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy over couple of decades and strengthened their presence on the global manufacturing map. The country, contributed significantly to the economic and social development of the country by fostering partnership, entrepreneurship, leadership and it is MSMEs in particular, which are complimentary to large industries as ancillaries, contributed significantly to generating large employment opportunities and providing livelihood at comparatively lower capital costs.

India, due to its inherent powers, is in its continuous endeavour to develop manufacturing and MSMEs in terms of industrial output, exports, etc leading to economic prosperity and this would help the country to re- position itself as a Global Manufacturing and MSME and a Global Supply Chain Hub in the near future. 

With this perspective in view, ASSOCHAM is organizing first edition of “MANUFACTURING AND MSME CONCLAVE 2022 - Empowering Industry for a Better Future” on Friday, 2nd December 2022 at 10.00 a.m. at Kolkata, West Bengal.  

The Objectives of the Conclave:

• To project the region as a vibrant Manufacturing and MSME hub and to give it a significant position in the global industrial map.
• To showcase the various policies of the State and Central Governments which would help in facilitating the development process of the engineering/manufacturing sector and MSMEs. 
• To highlight the best practices, initiatives followed by large scale manufacturing organizations and MSMEs and also to highlight the innovations brought in by them for development of the industry fraternity.
• To showcase the expectations from the MSMEs by manufacturing organizations, enable to create a win-win situation as well as to establish linkages between MSMEs and manufacturers. 
• Last but not the least, to highlight the various options available for financing for MSMEs and how to access it and to provide them guidance on technological inputs, infrastructure support, exports/imports and how they could market their goods/products, particularly through e-commerce platform and get access to newer markets, especially overseas markets.

As part of the Conclave, ASSOCHAM is organizing Business Excellence Awards to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of MSMEs, Corporates, Banks and the Best Business practices followed by them, leading to business transformation and sustainability. The Business Excellence awards are highest recognition which has a significant and positive impact. Kindly note that the last date for nominations on 18th November 2022.
