Conference on Fuels of Future 2.0

As we navigate through the 21st century, the conversation around fuels is undergoing a profound transformation. The quest for sustainable, renewable, and environmentally friendly energy sources has become paramount. The focus has now shifted towards finding environmentally friendly new age cleaner fuels and embracing cleaner options such as biofuels, electric vehicles and hydrogen powered plants and machines.

Biofuels are expanding their reach by utilizing organic materials like algae, crop waste and even municipal solid waste to generate energy. These materials not only reduce our dependence on non- renewable resources but also offer a potential solution to waste management challenges. Green hydrogen is another option that involves electrolyzing water using energy sources like wind & solar power. This process produces zero greenhouse gas emissions making it a clean fuel option for purposes including transportation, renewable energy storage and industrial use. Advancements in battery technology are also playing a role in shaping the future of fuels. Electric vehicles powered by lithium-ion batteries have already started revolutionizing our approach to transportation. These initiatives are backed by government policies under Atmanirbhar Bharat, like Ethanol Blended Programme, Green Hydrogen Policy, FAME Scheme, New Electric Vehicle Policy, Coal Gasification which helping country strengthen its energy security in etc.

However, it\'s important to acknowledge that there are still challenges on this journey. Infrastructure changes, feedstock availability, technological advancements, skilled labour, green financing, and policy reforms are crucial components in the transition to these new fuel sources. It will require collaboration between governments, industries, and communities to overcome these hurdles.
