ASSOCHAM “India ESG Stewardship Summit: Emerging Landscape and Business Response”

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the strategic impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) continues to grow as a response to increased accountability and expectations from various stakeholders. India has more proactively moved from BRR to benchmarked practice of Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) which is aligned to internationally accepted disclosure frameworks. The non- financial factors of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) are increasingly becoming an integral part of the business analysis process.

To encourage and promote responsible wealth creation, ASSOCHAM had initiated the “Responsible Organization Excellence Awards” a decade ago. With the regulatory and compliance landscape for disclosures and reporting evolving faster than ever, it is increasingly significant that the ESG aspects be more firmly embedded into compliance requirements. With this in mind, we are happy to announce the “10th Responsible Organization and Social Responsible Individual Excellence Awards 2020-21” to celebrate the social impact contributions of corporate citizens, impactful NGOs, and social enterprises.

In view of the above, on the occasion of ASSOCHAM Annual Session under the central theme \"Bharat@100: envisioning a globally competitive future\", we have scheduled the “India ESG Stewardship Summit: Emerging landscape, Impact and Business Response” on 15 March 2022. The summit will feature eminent speakers and participants from the government, regulators, corporate governance practitioners, ESG & CSR professionals amongst others from India and abroad. Keeping in mind the pandemic induced restrictions, the summit along with the “10th Responsible Organization Excellence Awards 2021” is proposed to be held virtually.
