The pandemic has accelerated the urgency to integrate technologies and the need for building an ecosystem that addresses the needs of individuals in a personalized manner. During the budget announcements, the finance minister reported that the Union Budget 2023-24 has included the establishment of 157 new nursing colleges in co-location with the current medical colleges. This move showcases the government’s focus on transforming the healthcare sector by sustainable approaches.

The government has also introduced various healthcare reforms launched before and during the pandemic such as, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and teleconsulting guidelines combined with growing health tech start-up ecosystem, have evolved to make healthcare journey better for Indian population. Thus, “new normal” in healthcare ecosystem will be about how healthcare delivery will innovate in the coming decade with sustainable solutions and what it means for both patients and healthcare providers.
