National Conference on Modernization of Railways for Viksit Bharat

Indian Railways is one of the largest rail networks in the world. As India moves towards becoming a developed economy by 2047, the expanding economy will need much faster expansion and improved efficiency of the Railways. Our rapidly growing economy will offer promising opportunities for growth in future, for which an efficient transportation system is necessary to serve the growing demand for both the industry and the passengers alike.

In order to achieve sustainable growth, technological advancements are crucial in key areas such as high speed trains, safety measures, track, locomotives, signalling systems, and the development of heavy haul systems.

With a vision to transform Indian Railways into a world class system, the Govt has introduced a National Rail Plan. The aim of the plan is to streamline the operations with modern systems. For Indian railways to undergo a technological and functional transformation, implementing the highest levels of safety measures and efficiencies are crucial. Public-Private Partnerships offer an innovative approach to deliver modern, high-quality public services and enhance the country\'s competitiveness. Modernization of Railways is not merely about upgrading physical infrastructure but also about fostering an ecosystem of innovation, sustainability, and customer centric services to align with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat.

There are numerous challenges and opportunities in enhancing and upgrading rail infrastructure at different stages. Therefore, to discuss various aspects of creating a modern railway system, ASSOCHAM is organizing a National Conference ‘Modernization of Railways for Viksit Bharat’ at 09:30 A.M. on August 23, 2024, at Hotel Le Meridien in New Delhi.
