National Conference on INVESTORS PROTECTION, EDUCATION AND AWARENESS

Investments in various financial market instruments offer different investment avenues for investors. Investors not only determine the level and magnitude of activities in the securities market but also in the economy as a whole. However, there are various risks also involved. Hence, investors have to be well aware about the associated risk and needs adequate knowledge to compare the risks and expected returns, while taking investment decisions. The often neglected small investors in India require awareness on savings and investment, which provides them an opportunity to safeguard their hard earned money.

SEBI endeavors to ensure that the investor learns investing, uses information required for investing, evaluates various investment options to suit his specific goals, ascertains his rights and obligations in a particular investment, deals through registered intermediaries, takes necessary precautions, seeks help in case of any grievance, etc. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, has established an Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority for promotion of investors’ awareness and protection of the interests of investors. Hence, with an objective to make the investors aware in taking investment decisions and to discuss best investment practices, ASSOCHAM is organizing a National Conference on ‘Investors Protection, Education and Awareness’ at 9.15 a.m. on August 05, 2022 at Hotel Le-Meriden in New Delhi.

The programme will also aim at creating a larger pool of informed investors and simultaneously encouraging a greater number of common people to participate in the corporate economy through various investment instruments. The deliberations will focus on reaching out to investors and to familiarize them with the basic fundamentals of investment and risk management and their rights and responsibilities, and to build confidence among them to invest in corporate securities so that not only the corporate markets grow but so does the Indian economy. There will be a large participation by the investors, stakeholders, corporate and common people.
