National Conference: Future Ready Railways for Viksit Bharat

The vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, articulated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, positions Indian Railways as a cornerstone of India’s journey towards becoming a developed, globally competitive economy. As India moves towards becoming a developed economy, the expanding economy will need much faster expansion and improved efficiency of Railways. Modernisation of this extensive network would require the integration of advanced technologies, infrastructure upgrades, and the enhancement of passenger amenities. Freight movement plays a major role in the economy, shaping cities, creating jobs and generating large revenue. In order to achieve sustainable growth, technological advancements are crucial in key areas such as high-speed trains, safety measures, track, locomotives, signalling systems, and the development of heavy haul systems.
