India Turkey Electricals & Electronics Buyer Seller Meet

We are delighted to inform ASSOCHAM with the support of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India is organizing India -Turkey Buyer Seller Meet in Istanbul from 21-22 Sept, 2022. This B2B delegation will have the opportunity for the participants to have one on one meetings with importers, distributors and agents of electric and electronic products and equipment in Turkey.

Turkish Electricity Market continued to grow through this period, coming out of 2020 as one of the very few markets which did not experience a decrease in electricity consumption. After a slight interruption in 2020, growth continued in 2021 with increasing consumption and supporting increase in capacity closing down on 99 GW by the end of September 2021, suggesting an almost 9 GW increase since the end of 2019. Capacity increase is fully from expanding renewable capacities, with wind installed capacity surpassing 10 GW by the end of August 2021.

In the year 2021 as per ITC Trade map, Turkish importation of electrical & electronic engineering, machinery gadgets and products  touched about USD 20Bn a growth of USD 3Bn from 2020, and a similar growth experiences in 2020 from 2019 as well, this illustrates a strong growth and importation of the sector with growing demand in the country. China dominates the market importation with a whooping share of approx. 45% followed by Germany, Japan, Vietnam and Italy in the top 5. India is number 12 in the row with a share of close to 2% - managing exports worth USD 350 Mn electric and electronic products and equipment to Turkey in 2021. Hence there is huge potential for Indian products in the Turkish products – especially in the industrial and commercial segment because Turkey is also a producer and export in the sector.
