Electrical Engineering and Electronics is a fast-growing sector due to digitization and miniaturization. It is the second-largest sector of the Czech economy with a more than 13% share in overall manufacturing output. Over 15,000 companies employ nearly 150,000 workers with various skills with gross output touching USD 27.2 billion in 2016.

The growth of the Czech EE/electronics sector since the 1990s was based on the growth of both export and domestic consumption. The consumer-goods sector has grown rapidly, particularly due to the boom in the FPD industry and the presence of well-known manufacturers.

The sharp growth of the automotive sector in the Czech Republic and neighboring countries has also attracted a number of automotive electronics suppliers which offer good examples of how local know-how in specific fields can be used in high-tech manufacturing as well as R&D activities.

Czech Republic being at the heart of Europe, with well skilled and educated manpower and attractive investment destination due to conducive business policy, the country attracted huge amount of investments in electrical engineering, electrical, automotive & allied set ups.

This increasing investment has led to huge imports of electrical and electronic and industrial automation tools & equipment to withstand the existing and newly set up industries in Czech, evidenced by an import of USD 30Bn worth of electrical and electronic machinery in 2017.
