We are glad to inform you that ASSOCHAM with the support of Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India is organizing India Pavilion in Agro Food Iraq in Iraq during September 19-21, 2023. The Expo will be one of the largest exhibitions on Agro Food and Beverages and Food Processing & Packaging Technology Exhibition sector.

Iraq is largely dependent on food imports – meeting 90% of its demand.  Wheat and barley are the most strategic crops for the country

Iraq’s rice imports averaged 1.1 – 1.2 million tons a few years ago but have now surged to nearly 2 million tons.  Local production has moderately increased, from about 120,000 tons to 250,000 tons this past year, and domestic consumption increased from 1.3 million tons to 1.7 million tons in 2022.

Iraq food importation touched $2.68Bn in 2020. UAE is the largest supplier to Iraq, followed by China, India, Iran and Turkey.

Processed and packed food items, meat and poultry, Tea, Spices, Edible Fruits Vegetables, sugar and confectionery etc. among the top imported food items.

The FOCUS SECTORS of the expo are:
