The Chemicals & Petrochemicals industry has been an integral part of the global economic landscape for many centuries and is one of a key contributor to the country\'s economic growth, as it is closely linked to industries such as agriculture, healthcare, textiles, construction, packaging, automotive and covers almost every sphere of life. Capturing emerging opportunities in the near term could make a positive difference to India’s chemical companies and to the industry overall. With changing times and the world transitioning to a green future, the chemical industry is experiencing a paradigm shift. Encouragingly, there\'s a growing emphasis on sustainable processes and innovation.

GUJARAT, a significant contributor to this growth has emerged as a major national hub for the C&P industry. The state\'s robust infrastructure, strategic location, and favourable policies have positioned it as a key player in the sector. Specifically, Gujarat PCPIR has been instrumental in attracting investments and fostering sustainable industrial development & growth in the region. Despite this rapid growth, the Chemical and Petrochemical industry faces challenges such as environmental concerns, sustainable practices, regulatory compliance, Skilled resource scarcity & innovation pace. However, these challenges also present opportunities for innovation and growth. Further to fuel the growth of Chemical & Petrochemicals industry, need to focus on eco-friendly sustainable products, waste management technological advancements, green chemistry, R&D, infrastructure investments.

To address these challenges, ASSOCHAM Gujarat Council is organizing Chemical & Petrochemical Conclave: - Building a Sustainable Industry for a Viksit Bharat @2047 on 26^th September 2024 at Ahmedabad with an aim to unite industry leaders, policymakers, academicians, and other stakeholders to discuss challenges and to strategize on building a sustainable industry for VIKSIT BHARAT. The conclave will also focus on leveraging emerging technologies, adopting green practices, ensuring safety and promoting responsible waste management.
