The ASSOCHAM National Council for Pharmaceuticals serves as an Industry Policy Forum, bringing together industry leaders, government bodies, policymakers, regulators, researchers, and other stakeholders to address key sectoral challenges and advance the interests of India's pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The Council promotes Ease of Doing Business, business competitiveness, public policy advocacy, regulatory reforms, innovation, and industry–government collaboration to strengthen the sector's long-term growth.

As a strategic pillar of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, the pharmaceutical sector plays a vital role in strengthening India's healthcare ecosystem, promoting research and innovation, enhancing global competitiveness, and contributing to sustainable economic development.
