Northern Region Development Council

Northern region, one of the largest regions in India constitutes 30.8 percent of country's total area and 31 percent of the country's population, contributing over 26 percent to the national GDP. This region has numerous unique strengths such as significant pool of highly skilled and unskilled labour, abundance of natural resources, vast land banks, growing infrastructure, continuous government support and many more. Together, these factors make the region a viable investment destination.

Keeping in view the strong potential of Northern Region, ASSOCHAM formed a Northern Region Development Council which is currently covering the 3 Indian States i.e Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab & 2 UT's i.e Chandigarh and Jammu & Kashmir.

International Tractors Limited (Sonalika), Vice Chairman, Amrit Sagar Mittal & Suneet Kochhar, Director, Khanna Paper Mills took the charge of ASSOCHAM's Chairman & Co-Chairman for Northern Region Development Council.

Elaborating on the priorities for the year 2021-22 and beyond, ASSOCHAM Northern Region Development Council will work closely with the State Governments of the northern region as an equal partner for the holistic and sustainable growth of the industry sectors in the region.
