Government of Uttar Pradesh is committed to promote Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise: Deputy Chief Minister Shri Brijesh Pathak

Uttar Pradesh’s government reaffirms commitment to MSME development through improved infrastructure, investment promotion, and rural enterprise support.

The Deputy Chief Minister Shri Brijesh Pathak said that small-scale industries play a crucial role in nation-building, and the government is constantly striving to provide a better environment for them at the ASSOCHAM Uttar Pradesh MSME Sammelan: Transforming Reforms for Global Competitiveness in Lucknow today.

While welcoming attendees, Shri Brijesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, emphasized that small and medium industries are vital to nation-building and need to be actively promoted. He mentioned that since 2017, the Uttar Pradesh government has been working to improve the investment climate in the state. He noted, “Earlier, the investment climate in the state was almost negative, but under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the government has made significant efforts to promote investment at all levels.” He further highlighted the improvements in infrastructure, such as better roads, a growing expressway network, and a significant upgrade in the electricity system. He added that the laws and order situation in the state has improved to such an extent that investors now feel confident in setting up businesses or enterprises here without fear.

Shri Pathak also mentioned that the single-window system and the promotion of ease of doing business have led to proposals worth more than 4 lakh crore rupees being received during the last Investors Meet.

The two-day conference was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Brijesh Pathak. The event began with a welcome address by Mr. Shri Hasan Yaqoob, Co-Chairperson of the ASSOCHAM Uttar Pradesh Development Council. He spoke on Global Competitiveness through Transformative Reforms and provided a platform for experts from various fields to share their views on the preparedness and challenges faced by MSMEs in the state.

Smt. Sushma Pal Berlia, Chairperson of ASSOCHAM, in her online address to the MSME representatives and other dignitaries from across the state, described the MSME sector as the heartbeat of the state’s economy. She acknowledged the changing global scenario and expressed confidence that the future would be favorable for the MSME sector. Smt. Berlia praised the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme as a successful initiative and emphasized the importance of supporting MSMEs in remote or rural areas. She stressed the need for continued guidance and handholding to ensure their growth and success.
