With India active at the Paris Climate Agreement, the world’s fifth-largest auto market is readying for a stupendous transformation: moving completely towards Electric Vehicles by 2030, as per the Hon’ble Prime Minsiter’s vision to helm an     eco-friendly energy revolution in the country. It reckons that the automobile sector’s massive conversion will cut its oil bill by some $60 billion, reduce emissions by 37%, and curb the burgeoning demand for road infrastructure over the next 13 years.

ASSOCHAM, India’s Apex Chamber for Commerce and Industry
has been interacting with the Automobile Industry for addressing their concerns and future opportunities through it’s National Council on Auto and Auto Ancillaries, Chaired by Mr. R. S. Kalsi, Sr. Executive Director, Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Co-Chaired by Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Partner & CEO, Roland Berger, India.

ASSOCHAM International Conference on Electric Vehicles
brings together all stakeholders on single platform to deliberate around Electric vehicles. Stakeholders include speakers from Academia, Financial institutions, Industry associations, Component makers, Cell & Battery Manufacturers, International experts, Policy makers, Knowledge partners, Taxi Aggregators etc.

As India is committed to moving to Electric Vehicles by 2030, the ASSOCHAM Chairman Shri R. S. Kalsi, proposes to organize a meaningful one day International Conference on the Electric Vehicles with the Theme "Future Roadmap for India" on Tuesday, 19th December, 2017 at Hotel Le- Meridian, Janpath, New Delhi from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Leading global consultants, Roland Berger is the 'Knowledge Partner' and is also preparing the Background Paper for this Conference.

The Key Issues for discussion at this one day International Conference will include Global perspective and Indian context on Electric Vehicles, Eco System enablers for Electric Vehicles, Cell Manufacturing Key to Localization and Enablers for Component Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India.

The proposed ASSOCHAM Conference on Electric Vehicles is "Officially Supported" by the Ministry of Transport and Highways, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the Niti Aayog and the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV).
