A Great Atmosphere for all the stakeholders to realize good business opportunities
Medical Travel which can be broadly defined as synergy between Hospitals and the Travel industry is growing at a high pace and expected to gain further momentum in India. Medical treatments in India are one of the lowest in Asia and the techniques in hospitals are most up-to-date & advanced. A rising compliance on worldwide excellence standards, as well as the actuality that people from other countries are less likely to face a language obstacle here in India is also bolstering growth of Medical Travel.
The medical value travel industry in India gets maximum patients for heart surgery, knee transplant, cosmetic surgery and dental care as the cost of treatment in India is considered to be the lowest in Asia, much lower than Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Hong Kong. India provides affordable, high quality healthcare derived by the availability of high end medical devices which helps physicians undertake complex procedures. Supplemented by the modern healthcare facilities in India, Indian Ayurveda is fast turning states like Kerala, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh & Goa into a global medical travel destination, attracting Patients, Holidayers as well as International celebrities to the country.
However, it has to be noted that Indian Medical travel is facing tough competition from countries like Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Furthermore, lack of international accreditation, overseas medical care not being covered by insurance providers, and low-investment in health infrastructure along with the general infrastructure are few of the issues impeding the growth of this sector. With this background, ASSOCHAM is organizing MEDiTravel-2017 which will be a forum to discuss key issues in medical travel in order to get medical travel on the right track and to move the industry forward.
The Congress will be the place where leading representatives of the medical travel sector will come together. The key objectives will be:-
Technology in Medical Travel
Ayurveda and Wellness Travel
